$189,000

That would about 360-390k in my neighborhood

It’s in Alabama, though.
![]() 05/20/2016 at 21:36 |

It would be 600k+ in my neighborhood.

Yes?

You could move a town over from me and this house would be in that ball park as well

This is probably close to a million here.

That’s like $31,000 per roof or $47,000 per cladding material. I suppose that’s good value.

Nice but I’d take a smaller house and more land.
Like this Stone Farmhouse on 69 acres in Dubuque for $169900.

I personally would also, but I prefer recently built houses for some reason.
My current house was built in the 20's and everything is creaky as fuck.
![]() 05/20/2016 at 21:52 |

But, two-car garage.
![]() 05/20/2016 at 21:53 |

I get that. Rehabbing houses is a pain too.
Hey, with 69 acres to mess with you could build your own private neighborhood! A different house for every day!
![]() 05/20/2016 at 21:54 |
|
With that land I could build a Hangar.

I dig the looks and price. I don’t dig where it is, but it could be worse, it could be by Tuscaloosa.
![]() 05/20/2016 at 21:55 |

Damn, that's a $800k house in northern VA :(
![]() 05/20/2016 at 22:00 |

Haha, nothing like a development of tract houses.
Or even better, just one tract house that looks normal from the outside, but is entirely a garage on the inside.

Yup, wouldn’t be the idea location.
But if I’m able to get a job in the area, a viable option for sure.

Rolling hills>Plains
Even if I wasn’t an Alabama fan, I’d rather live in the Tuscaloosa area. I fucking hate South Alabama.

There ya go!

I think I found my business plan!

I LOVE Alabama’s home prices. But their constant tornadoes scare me; when I visited my cousin’s new house in 2011, there were brand new houses in the neighborhood that already had blue tarps on parts of the roofs because of recent tornadoes. This was in Huntsville.

Fellow Dubuque jalop?! That's a ton of land around here!

Cool. Since we’re doing fantasy builds, put a loft apartment in it for me. I’ll pay my keep by polishing all your fancy fantasy cars. I’ve always wanted to live in Fantasy Dubuque!

I’m moving there in 3 weeks. I took a gig at Finley Hospital.
I’m searching for a rental house right now so if you know of anything let me know.

We’ve actually been on sort of a Tornado drought, the last major outbreak was the April 2011 one I think you’re referring to.

Haha that’s why moving from Arlington to Minneapolis was amazing

It’s way too modern-cookie-cutter for me.

Good deal! I've been here 3.5 years and have been enjoying it. Car show wise the first Tues of every month is the hot summer nites cruise in at the Mystique casino. Really nice mix of cars there. East Dubuque has 72 and earlier classics every thurs night. Then there is a cars and coffee that just got started that should pick up some steam!

Fair enough. Just don’t become a Tide or Tigers fan.

I don’t mind Gulf Shores and Foley. The rest I could take or leave.
